In search of a meaningful old age
This book is intended to be a road movie, where the images are created inside the reader's head.
The main character of the book, Kurt Andersson, 72, travels through the USA in the fall of 2016. His goal is to find people with ideas how to make old age not only bearable but also fun and meaningful.
Kurt has chosen to visit cities with more than 600,000 inhabitants. Why is unclear. Maybe he had not checked on facts so carefully before he left.
The book is inspired by Neil Young. During his 50 years as an artist he always prioritized the music and the lyrics and not being fancy on the stage. He continues to make live music with meaningful texts also after he passed 70 years. His face is wrinkled without the surgical procedures that he could afford if he wanted to.
With regard to surgical procedures, one of the goals of this novel is to give the prostate a face. Every other man in Kurt's age has or has had a problem with the prostate. It is a natural part of men's aging.
There are many characters in the book. Some of them are real. Others are wholly or partially perceived.
